Register for the Subject Selection Fair!

Hello everyone, welcome back from the break! I hope you are all feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the last 3 weeks of class. These weeks are also the most difficult ones, so we gotta get working. Crunch time is here, but hang in there, we’re really close to finishing.

On another note, this Wednesday 4th of October we have the Subject Selection Fair. The aim of this event is to help you choose your subjects for next year. Deciding on what subjects to take apart from your cores can be tricky stuff, especially if this also affects the major you’ll end up in. This fair is a great opportunity to gain some insight on the options you have so you can make an informed decision.

The workshops will have academics and alumni discussing the different subject choices you can make and their career outcomes. Also, they only last half an hour each, so they won’t take a big chunk of your time. There’s a workshop available for each study area of the SHE College, so information is tailored to you and your degree.

You can register for the event here. Get on it, there’s only two days left! You can also take a look at the event flyer below for the whole info:

Hopefully everyone gets to attend this event. I went last year and it made my life a thousand times easier. I also wish you the best of luck in the next few weeks! We all know these last days are pretty stressful. If you are struggling too much, remember you can always talk to the SDAs. Good luck to everyone and see you in another post.

  1. What about for those of us in Health Sciences?? Why are there are no sessions on Public Health and Rehabilitation Counselling?

    • Hi Kat,
I have sent an email to the organiser to try and get an answer to your question.
Will get back to you soon… have a great week.

    • Hello again Kat, The organiser advised that they reach out to as many disciplines as possible and it is up to them if they wish to be involved in the subject selection fair.  Any discipline not involved may do it via other means, or may not have been available for the event time. We hope this helps and would encourage you to connect with your Course Coordinator through ASKLatrobe should you need advice on how to select subjects within your discipline area. Enjoy the last few weeks of semester… cheers… Mel
