Rundown of Reminders

Here’s another one of these! I’ve only got a few weeks left to make one of these Rundown of Reminders so I’m going to make the most out of it!

Women in Science

The La Trobe Microbiology Society, in association with Teach for Australia, present ‘Women in Science’.

It is a social evening that allows you to mingle with influential scientists and also enjoy a Hollywood movie! There will be three influential speakers who will discuss options within science and share their experiences, as well. Pizza and beverages will follow, ending with a movie screening!

This is a FREE event for anyone who are keen to attend, especially science-based clubs!

Check out the multiple flyers around the campus for more details! You can also RSVP on this link!

Subject Evaluations

Here’s the thing, it’s always annoying and hard and a bother to do these things… until you actually do them. Then you realise that it’s actually nothing at all. It takes you no time and it helps your demonstrators and the university improve their subjects and the way they go about things. Make yourself be heard- appreciate what you like, offer constructive criticism, and so on. It’s a way of giving back, too.

Finish Strong

We’re in week 11 now and it’s near the end. The prac exams are piling on, the amount of assessments are piling on, the deadlines for the big essays and reports that we have to do are getting nearer and nearer. The last few weeks are almost always the most overwhelming ones. So, if you find yourself struggling, just take a breather and take a break. Distance yourself from whatever is causing you stress, refuel with coffee or food or social interaction and then, come back to it with a vengeance.

Challenges are always present, it’s how you deal with them that makes you you.

But don’t forget, the SDAs and the Peer Learning Advisors are always here to help.

Best of luck the rest of the way!
