Graduating this year?
This could be for you!
The La Trobe University Graduate Development Program looks for high calibre tertiary graduates to engage in their 12 month program. It is managed by La Trobe University but the recruitment process is governed by HOBAN Recruitment.
The aim of the program is to provide La Trobe graduates an opportunity to develop their employability, experience, gain new skills, provide mentoring, on the job and formal development and start their career strong.
Sounds great to me so far! But where do we go from here? Firstly, lets see if you are eligible…
So who is eligible?
You need to be an undergraduate or postgraduate student from La Trobe University either finishing your degree by 31st December 2016 or a recent graduate post December 2013.
You need to have working rights within Australia, so either an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident at the time of your application.
You may be asked to undertake a police records check or working with children check during the process.
The application process…
Looking at the Candidate Guide I suggest you get onto this as soon as possible. The first process will require you to fill in information online and submit a resume. Creating a strong Resume takes time and you may even need to seek help with this to get it right.
If you progress past this stage, you will then be asked to complete an online aptitude assessment. Aptitude testing is the best kind of test… all the information you require to complete the test is provided to you in the exam. There is nothing you can do to prepare for the test, as in studying content, but you could do a few practice ones to help you get a sense of what to expect.
After this there a number other stages, outlined in detail in the ‘Candidate Guide’ and they even provide you with a Resume template to get your started.
For more information about the program, and how to apply, please follow this link.
Applications close 5pm Friday 28th October.

Good luck on your applications… don’t forget, Careers and Employability are available to discuss career options with your and help your transition from University into employment.
